Stupid NOIR.

May 2, 2010 - Leave a Response

Grrrr. I’ve still not moved. It seems that noir. along with others, are having a mini invasion of the systems around us which is deterring ne from risking myself by travelling.

Unfortunately aswell we’ve been unable to get clones at our new home because they aren’t giving us access to the offices.

And I can’t use the rorqual to carry my JC because, well, brets the only one who can make a cyno so he can’t travel too easy.

I think I’m just going to have to get my myrm out of the Corp hangar and bite the bullet, try and get into a convoy and speed down to EUU. Maybe train for a cloaking device while I’m there?

The only real good thing to happen today was that I happened to be online for the alliance meeting on vent.

And for the good old skills update. Well I’m getting repair systems V, (weird I know but I had 5 mins to find a skill that would last me at least a day or two that I had the implants for. Once I have the implants i’ll get assault ships up to 4 or 5 before weapon upgrades V and at last. Heavy assault ships!!

Bring on dominian! Get me even more isk! (Beg still applies nomatter what my income is, only my expectations go higher.)

Did I mention I have over 200 mill?

Ready to move, move it!

April 30, 2010 - Leave a Response

Well first off I’ll apologise. I said last post that we were moving to somewhere but no, we’re really going to insmother. The rest of the info is true.

But yes I’ve got the myrm setup at RENs. And because of the fact that it’s just a ship I can’t be bothered to fly to RENs, or fly well for that matter, I’ve just sold it along with the rigs to raise the wallet to the alltime high of 220 million. It’s a good now all that needs to happen is that I go get a jumpclone installed in the rorqual and jumpclone to the new home. Or I can suicide clone but I don’t seem to me able to find any station on the list that’s in insmother.

I’ve also almost completed engineering V. And if I didn’t tell you I’ve also got mechanic V. Now I’m getting repair systems V. Once I’ve got the right implants in I’ll get onto weapon upgrades, and then I’ll be kicking ass in my Ishtar!!!!

This blogging lark

April 28, 2010 - Leave a Response

Am I anygood at this blogging thing? I seem to posting once a week at this rate and it’s not like the stories I have are massive epics like some blogs.

But moving on from the self pitying stuff. God it’s been a while since I’ve shared my stories. Wormholes, mission, 0.0. It’s a long story.

And I’m gonna tell you pretty much all of it!

So I think I’ve told you how I did one level 3 mission and became horribly bored by it. Then the next day I found a class 2 WH. Naturally I went in, checked it out and ran some sites. In my trusty old myrmidon I went off and tried to kickass. I did the site ‘reminants of *something* cohort 27. When I came out after god knows how long of trying to kill the bastard sleeper battleships, I came out with something in the region of 35 mill. Pretty good. The thing is alot of this comes from the initial spawn. Over half I think. The five frigs give you 15 mill in nanoribbons, (I checked it, I did the initial spawn again and got 3 ribbons again), and then another few mill through the battleship blue tax.

Why did it take so long? Well I forgot to use sentry drones like I said I would last time I blogged about the matter and used warrior Is. If I get the chance again, I’m using the damn sentries. Why? Well incase you haven’t been following me that long it’s because there’s no travel time. As long as you sit still, and my myrm has the tank to do so, if your drones are primaried, they can be retracted instantly. They also have sufficient buffertank not to instapop.

But the more interesting news is that we’re going to 0.0 again. We’ve joined reckoning. (not the ‘.’), alliance. As far as I know it’s an industrial corp deep into 0.0. How deep? Well 3 JF jumps if I’m right. Scalding pass rings a bell but I’m really not sure. All I know is that we have 5 systems all for industry and ratting activities. We have PVP but that’s circumstantial to being in 0.0.

As ever, my plan is get in my myrm and rat my face off until I’m bored then go fail at PVP and rage quit for a week after getting called primary! It’s a great life!

Really though. If we get the chance I might join the WH colonisation. If we don’t start that again then I’ll just try to find the odd class 2 or 3 and solo it.

Of course I’ll indulge you all in my plan for skills. Basically, train for Ishtar. Use it. Make money. Rage quit when I lose it. I might wait until after tyrannis to get my Ishtar so I get the new insurance bonuses given to t2 ships. Hopefully the angels will be kind and give me easy money. Apparently the systems got lots of military upgrades though for complexes so all should be good.

Back to empire

April 23, 2010 - Leave a Response

And back to empire for me. We have left majesta after our trail ran out. As far as I know we were the ones who left and weren’t kicked, but I’ve been absent for the past week so I dint really know.

So it’s back to missioning with me. We’ve moved over to amarr space, though I’ve stayed at isekesu because I’ve got much better standing with the caldari navy so it’s easier for me. I’m also only 4 jumps from jita. I managed to run one mission before I had to come off and it was but nostalgic. It was boring as hell!!!

However, in the runup to getting to re mission I had to sell my stuff I left at tvn. So I jumpclone back up there and sell all my stuff, apart from a myrm I had whick was insured for 40 mill but the selling price was less than 30.
So I undock and bargain on a suicide clone back down to mastakomon. Te funny part in that was that I undocked alongside a rorqual. And that roroqual had a scramblers. And ogre IIs. You see where Im going with this. I get podded in about 1 min and I’m back to the safety of highsec, with no wardecs!!

And in other good news, gallente cruiser V!!!! The month of training is over. Now for a dew more weeks of training and I’m in a Ishtar.
And I now also have 8 million SP.

I think I might restart my WH ops again to make a bit more money than missions, bur I’d still say a level 4 is more profitable than soloing class 2 or 3 WHs.

Spark me

April 17, 2010 - Leave a Response

I need an idea. Something I can just search constantly and never get bored of. Anyone any ideas.
On the bright side apart from the internet being void of info, I have 4 days until gallente cruiser V finishes. Woop!!

1armageddon, 1 munnin, 2 brutix, 3 carriers, and a titan

April 5, 2010 - Leave a Response

You know how I complained that I lost a thorax to chimera. I lied I checked the kill mail and it turns out I had a geddon, munnin, 2 brutix, 3 Thanatos and leviathan killing me. That FC was pretty desperate for a kill!

I tried another pvp op today to defend our entry system from atlas. I got caught in a bubble when everyone else had warped out. I was pissed but I’d insured the brutix in station and the fitting was mostly free. Shame I didn’t Corp insure it but the loss didn’t hurt in any department other than the killboard one.

To try and recoup any major losses I just ratted for the rest of the day.

On the days before that though, some shit went down! I’m now using tovoni as a station trading alt in jita. I gave him 20 mill and he’s staying level I think. He’s not making it big but the trade sems to be making a bit of money. I’ve tried a few items but there’s only Bern one successful one and I think I’ll continue it. The unsuccessful ones include missiles, the prices fluctuates due to time of day, scanner probes, nobody buys them, and caesium. It keeps being outbid. My current item stays stays fairly steady and it has a nice margin. I think I’ll cancel all the other orders and just concentrate on this item. I reckon it could turn pretty proffitable once I trade more of it.

I also suffered a terrible morale blow these past few days. My super tank myrmidon was defeated. I went to a guristas troop reinvigoration camp, (a 6/10 complex), got to the second room and drew full room aggro from 7 BSs, 12 BCs and a small army of frigs and destroyers. The tank slowly died before I warped out. Thankfully some good old corpmates cleared the room so I could grab my stuff and try and rebuild.

This war we’re in is taking it’s toll. The markets here are emptying, things are more expensive and we can’t safely get stuff from empire because IT, COW and ATLAS are camping our exits and jita is probably just a hellhole. We’ve managed to get a few things but it’s a pain to get anything big up.

That fight I mentioned today? Great success. ATLAS was trying to take our system at about 2PM by putting up their SBUs. Then they offline it and reonline it. We were outnumbered so were were trying hit and run sniper HAC raids on them. Like I said I was killed and podded but the reports are that we killed 2 if their SBUs and simply owned the field. As a lot of people are now saying, ‘We’re not just carebears, we can fight back’. And we have, look at what ATLAS, COW and IT have captured. Nothing. They only seem to be able to perma-reinforce a low-sec pos.

I’ve also gotten wise about saving money when I die. Only install implants I’m going to use now. For the past couple of pods I’ve used 3 +3s for intel, memory and percep, no matter what I’m training. Along with +2s in the others. Now it’s just the +3s in perception and willpower because I’ve got that for another 2 weeks along with gunnery and other skills that need this skills.

The final op I was on today was actually a liitle stealth op. A corpmate found a WH straight into delve. I had to leave after a neutral in a dramiel killed my very, very poorly fit incursus but that left a drake and a manticore in delve to wreck havok. How’d you like that IT. right inside your lines ready to kill on sight.

PS. IT we have so much funny propaganda on you. We’ve got Easter present posters and old WWII posters with you clowns photoshopped in.

Im sure that made your E-Peen so much bigger!

April 3, 2010 - Leave a Response

I started off the day as usual, did a bit of ratting, though I did it a bit differently this time using a thorax to see if it’s any quicker, it’s not.

I got the call of an op going down so I hiked up to H-W to bridge in. The actual fight was going down in some dead-end system with one gate if I remember right. So we camp this gate for a few minutes, suffering some pretty bad lag, then the enemy cynos in a mixed capital and battleship fleet, I even saw a nyx! We were a completely battleship fleet though. This causes some god aweful lag though, effectively freezing eve for me, bar a few frames per minute.
Then some damage starts to come in. From a carrier. Oh here’s the best bit. I was still in a thorax, and this carrier tries to kill me! The actual killing blow was laid by a maelstrom using 720mm artillery on me. But a carrier, chimera, blowing up a thorax. I’m sure your E-peen has grown exponentially mate. To nail the sad nails in ITs PR coffin. The FC said later that his interceptor had been doomsdayed!

The lag was actually so bad that I had to reboot the computer because it froze the computer. I relogged and it froze again as I entered the battlefield. I logged in again several hours and the fight had moved on. As I warped to the old field of battle at the gate, I really wished i’d had a hauler at the time. There was so many hobgoblin IIs just left there. I had a few safe jumps until I ran into an unavoidable gatecamp in my pod. Like a man I tried to burn out but it was enevitable I’d be killed in the process, at least it gets me back to base, I thought.

Well no it takes me to the nearest high sec from base. And I lost my implants, ****. So I pause my skills, jump up to tvn and hear about another op to defend our most strategic JB. Unfortunately I miss the final Titan bridge as I looked for the blasters or railguns to buy or get from the corp hangar. We have none! Someone in ME start building or bringing in non-t2 hybrid guns. I log out as I have to leave anyway. Oh shit I forgot to restart the skills!!!

On the Corp logistics side, I think I have found a way to get cheap goods from jita, to the main fight in 0.0. Basically, I use tovoni in his hauler to drag modules safely up from Jita, and put them in the Corp hangar, people pay me for the modules they order as I think I’ll make this service available to the Corp, and ask kindly if one of our corps jump freighter pilots can send the stuff up to TVN and give it back to us to use/sell. I’m releasing this plan without fear because I want people to do it. Just do it to lower the cost of this damn war, and so we have better fit pilots for all the blobs!

Blogging to the masses

April 2, 2010 - Leave a Response

It was only last night I last blogged which is a bit early, but the idea for this blog came to me and I didn’t want to forget.

It was not long ago that my blog was dedicated to simply getting daily hits, I’d advertise in ingame channels, blog daily to appear on eve bloggers front page, ( they contribute a lot to the blogs popularity with rss feeds and such. But the whole blog was dedicated to just satisfieing a want for popularity and not concentrating on real stories, it boiled down to, ‘today, I have 5 days left on a skill, I can’t wait to get in a WH, visit this blog dammit.’
I can only imagine it was fucking boring to read.
I won’t deny I don’t still do bits of advertising, I put a link to the blog on my corp forum signature. I put a link in my latest alliance post, but that was relevant to the post.

It may be a obvious plug, but I can’t thank locusts. enough! They reinvigorated this blog, I do pvp operations and not die, I make respectable money from ratting, I have fun! Majesta obviously deserve some credit here but I still would have had fun without them being in a WH.

I don’t really have anymore stories for today apart from one successful op we did that spanned too many systems to name. The main events of it were; 1) killing a POS, 2) smarting at the patheticness of atlas while killing the pos, 3) and chasing after a couple of supercarriers.

The successful POS takedown was one that was reinforced a few days ago on an op I decided not to do. When we came through to the atlas pos we were warned about some stealth bomber gangs that atlas were using. We smarted at the fact they ere reduced to such a cheap tactic when they are such a huge alliance. If they were small and poor it would be acceptable because it’s a good cheap tactic if you can’t afford to field more effective capitals. So we started to takedown the POS and at about half armour, about 10 stealth bombers jumped to the pos but, they got caught in a bubble. Somehow one of hictor/hictor pilots had placed a bubble about 100km from the main fleet, catching the stealth bomber at range, out of range of the bombs. How we laughed as they were killed quickly and efficiently with no damage taken at all from them.

The supercarriers were supposed to be a few jumps away and when we got the call, we abandoned the movement to X-70 and tried to reach them. Someone said that they gas both cynoed in on a tengu in a combat site. This couldn’t be confirmed though because it took so long to get to the system because of gate traffic. We then proceeded to X-70 where we camped a station until I got bored and went home. Ironically, I think the fleet got a few kills after I left.

For all the fighting I was in my trusty ‘target is invunerabl’ sniper thorax. I fitted him a loopy different though by removing a small armour repper for an inertia stabaliser and a cap recharger for another sensor booster.

I also discovered the old passive myrm can tank a guristas haven. The last time I went into one of those I almost died but this time I managed to tank it all solo, though I warped out to join the POS bash fleet. Can someone tell me if it’s good to be able to solo tank a haven. I’m interested because the sanctum always seems to be used by others and we’re banned from that anomaly in some systems. Which is more profitable, sanctum or haven?

So that’s why they do it

April 1, 2010 - Leave a Response

I think I’m beginning to understand why people do 0.0 pvp. It’s fun to have 80 in TS and 100 people in fleet waiting patiently for the FC occaisonally cracking a good joke and getting hyped about a possible carrier kill.

I started the day late after coming back from Nottingham. I came on did a bit of ratting, but here’s the problem, it’s insanely boring!!!

So I decided to join the gatecamp fleet we have, after jumping around abit as they were jumping around chasing after stuff in the intel channels that were a few jumps from the main base. I should mention I was in a sniper cruiser shooting at around 20k with antimatter ammo. Didn’t have a point disrupted or webber though, instead using a cap recharger and sensor booster. I finally meet up with the fleet at the base and we set straight off to NCGR-Q. We camped around there for a while. If I remember right we almost got some tech 3 kills but only a Loki came through and he managed to escape.
We then came back to the start system camping the fate into low-sec. After getting cloakers in there and several requests for scanners to come in and look for some safespotted ships, we got a call from bret.

All credit to Yorkshire now as he and the FC formulated a master plan. He was trying to get his rorqual out from the lowsec station but it was camped by a zealot, vagabond, maybe a harbinger, and a Thanatos! The plan was that bret would undock his rorqual to get their attention and to check what was happening, then we warp in, tackle and kill. We managed to kill the vagabond and zealot. We almost killed the Thanatos too but we were mainly a gang of 70 BCs and a few battleships, so we somehow lost the tackle and lost him in half armour. The atlas,(could have been gentlemen’z club), carrier should have been ashamed, camping a poor rorqual.

We then went straight back up to a reported carrier tackle in TVN, it didn’t appear to there, we only saw a group of 5 dramiels and a sabre. There was talk of springing the rorqual/station trap again, but if they did do it I didn’t stick around for it.

I think I’ve got my skill que sorted out too. In 19 dys, when gallente cruiser V finishes, I’ll train up large hybrid turrets and CCC rigs so I can use my new BS, still caught up in mastakomon as obe is gatecamp heaven, and I don’t know about the system after that! I’ll continue to train up BS modules and skills useful to to it for up to a month, then revert back to cruiser skills. First weapon upgrades V then propultuion jamming V. see where I’m going here? Yes, I’m going for a heavy interdictor! Phobos to be precise. I have it planned out, 2 reps and lots of hardeners and cap boosters, then armour rigs. Can someone answer me this though, I know when using the bubble the Hic can’t be RRed but can it be RRed with the script loaded? Once I can fly that I’ll move onto hacs, then crosstrain into amarr. Then I’ll continue again into BS skills and probably start using +4 implants, if I dare! And train for T2 guns.

Battleships, lag, and a capital killmail

March 31, 2010 - One Response

Well I was on a capital killmail. I’ll go into the full story later.

The day started off normal. I did some belt ratting then I started to do some combat sites. I started doing these yesterday as it’s guarenteed rat spawns. They’re not always the best but they steadily get better and they’re always there with no warping between belts to see someone already has the belt cleared. Today though I encouraged a corpmate, (sorry can’t remember who it was), to join me in this so the rats would die faster. So there we were both in myrmidons killing the guristas with hammerhead IIs watching usurpers die in a minute or less. Then he says he fancies joining a fleet taking a pos to reinforced and disabling the guns.

Now we get to the good part we assemble a couple of jumps away from my ratting system so I get there in my ratting myrm. Literally I’d just jumped to the system without even clearing the cargo, that led to a small lol later. So I get to the place, we assembled at a morsus mihi POS with an Erebus setup to bridge us through. After a brief wait we went through and did a few jumps to the target pos in pure blind, X-70. On the way though we warped to station for some reason and a Phoenix undocked. Unable to shield his supprise the FC took a moment to tell us to shoot it. The poor sod in side had obviously just decided not to use his seige module, or not had the fuel to run it, as everyone in TS wa supprised how we killed it in less than a minute. Yes there were about 100 BSs at the time but I’d go as far to say he didn’t even turn on the hardners, never mind the boosters. My lowly myrm also got 1% of the damage done! That ship turned out to be one of the most expensive kills of the week.

We then continue to the target system and dance around a bit looking at the pos, finding it’s got hostiles in it, deciding to go back to have another look at the hostiles. I then have to log out for lunch. When I come back after a few hours, the FC has changed nationality, and the fleet apparently almost got a supercarrier kill but failed. And they tower was put into reinforced I think. The only thing left to do once I got back was to go out and incapacitate the guns. Easy. We go in knock down the top and bottom guns to structure and keep warping around every planet in the system in the meantime.
Unfortunately I’ve forgotten the FCs name too so I can’t shout him out either, but he was good. The KB ratio was something in the region of, billions of stuff killed, 101mill lost, for us. Take that SirMolle.

Appently the enemy did so shit because Molle logged out midfight leaving the enemy fleet without leadership.
Another reason the FC was good was because he waited for everyone to come through the gates on the wayhome.

I’ve given tovoni another shot at life using him as a trade alt in Rens. I’ve given him 20 mill to start and I’m going with some old products that worked in amarr and a new product completely. If he doesn’t make me ****loads I’m gonna make him pod himself.

Remember me moaning about my old myrmidon not being delivered. Well, what can I say. About fucking time! Maybe? Yorkshire pulled through? Nah. I’ll go with the former. As a little recompence for the wait though my legendary CEO gave me 50 mill for the hastle. And the good news continued from there. You know I thought the 85 mill I was given was from the person going to buy me a megathron? Well I just got given a megathron with rigs at the set destination. Booyah. So I think the 85 mill may have just come from a fan! Or the guy was just being very generous. Now, all I need is large hybrid turrets!
